It all comes from these guys. Everything. I hear the world and everything in it, and I always have been that way. I really don't know why I am the way I am, why I play music, or why I do anything else I do. It has been so long since I worked a regular job, and trust me, it isn't always easy out here in "I'm not like everybody else" land. There is just something in music, in sound, in the vibes, when it hits me just right. I just know there is more in the Universe than trying to be like somebody else, wanting what somebody else has, thinking that you have to spend your entire life doing what you don't want to do, just so you can have health insurance. I plan on playing as much as I can for as long as I can even when I don't feel like it, or when nobody is listening, or nobody seems to care. You don't have to care, because I do. Music is my soul. SPIRIT man when all the notes are in the air above the band or musician... That's my bag.

I love Ray Charles too, and Nina Simone, and Donny Hathaway, and the Blind Boys of Alabama, and lots more where that came from. Just give it to me straight with no beating around the bush. Black Keys, White Stripes, D'angelo, I got more where that came from. Oh there is a great band in Boston called the Tarbox Ramblers, you have GOT to check them out! I could tell you a story, but time is short.

First off, I want to thank all of you for supporting me, the people who come out to see me play, and the venues who keep me working! It is no small feat to be a full time musician, and I have been going now since 1998!

2012 is going to be a great year and it looks like I will be busier than ever! A new solo CD has been recorded and should be out by mid January, and the trio has decided on the name "Magical Flying Machine" and we will be recording in January. We are going to record live in the studio and hope to have a CD available by spring.

I have also decided to travel! Unlike the days of old, I will not be touring cross country, but I will be playing around the southeast. I am currently looking at Atlanta, Charlotte, Asheville, Columbia, Charleston, Jacksonville, Orlando, and Tampa, and all places in-between.

Make sure you are signed up to my e-mail list here at Georgiakyle.com and check out my Facebook page too!

Thank you, and I wish you a safe and Happy Holiday Season!!!

Kyle

My life is so filled with magical moments. I guess it's way too early to do an end of the year blog, but man this has been a really crazy year.(mostly in a good way) It seems that things are back on track and full, after last year was so slow and filled with uncertainty. You can look for new recordings in the near future, that will include tracks of me playing cigar box guitar, and I just have this urge to really kick this thing into gear, and right now, (knock on wood) the right people are all around me, and it just feels good. Major changes are on the way and it's about time! I will try to be a little more regular about blogging here, just in case anyone is reading.

Till next time,

Kyle

A big thanks to Unity of Savannah Center For Spiritual Awakening for hosting a benefit for the people of Japan. The Spirit I Am band played, and we raised $1200 to send to Shelter Box, and to Save the Children. You folks who came out for this are really appreciated, and you really made a difference for some people in need of help. THANK YOU ALL!!!

This Saturday(October 23rd) I will playing a concert at Unity of Savannah! This is a collaboration with my friend Dale Worley, who is Associate Minister/Music Director at Unity. Dale and I will both perform original songs, and also play some of our favorite Spiritual/Positive songs. We have a wonderful band, plus the choir! This is a "no pressure" situation! Nothing but music, and everyone is welcome! The show starts at 7p.m.

Also this week:

Thursday 10/21 @ Seagrass Saloon on Tybee Island. 8-midnight. This is a great, intimate room, and I love play in it!

Sunday 10/24 @ North Beach Grill also on Tybee Island. 6-9. I always love this place! The open sky, the ocean air... It is good.

Lots of gigs coming in November, and I guess it's about time to update that schedule. Maybe tonight. Other than that, this blog finds me listening to Ryan Adams and the Cardinals last show at the Fabulous Fox in Atlanta, and I will not lie, having a coffee, even at this hour! Can you believe it? Everything is perfect and I am satisfied! If you haven't already, then please join me on Facebook

Thanks for supporting local live music and musicians!
